Paul Taylor

Paul previously led NatWest’s Global Risk and UK Structured Finance, Rotch Property Group’s £5bn portfolio and founded, Three Delta, a £5bn private equity firm. Paul has extensive experience across the capital structure from vanilla hybrid lending to more sophisticated investment structures within private equity, structured finance, real estate and distressed debt.

Esmeralda Toni

Esmeralda is responsible for our strategic planning, investor relations and our growth development.

Esmeralda previously worked for London Capital Partners as their COO and prior to this was at Egnatia Holding as their Country Manager in South-east Asia.

Martin McLoughlin

Martin is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm.

He is the former FD at Invesco (Europe) and CFO at City Financial Investment Company with over 20+ years experience in Investment management. Whilst at Invesco, Martin co-ordinated the integration of the Henley based Perpetual business and led the roll out of the cross border offshore retail offering across mainland Europe, having board roles in the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Richard Burt

Richard is responsible for legal operations as the firm’s General Counsel.

He has over 23 years post qualification experience at leading City law firms including 7+ years in-house experience within the banking, finance, hotel, retail, and oil sectors. Prior to joining Blue Horizon, Richard was a Senior Solicitor with Stephenson Harwood and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (formerly known as Berwin Leighton Paisner).

Mark Gerchen

Mark is responsible for our structured products division and constructing diverse products in capital markets.

He has over 25 years experience in investment banking with primary focus on equity derivatives. He has previously held positions at ICAP and RBC.

Mehul Derodra

Mehul is responsible for liquid portfolio construction, risk management and public securities.

Mehul has over 20 years of experience in Capital Markets which included Multi-Asset Exotic Derivatives and Structured Products trading at ING and Dresdner Bank.

Nowtash Alsafar

Nowtash is responsible for sourcing, investment strategy and transaction execution.

Nowtash previously worked in the the private equity team at Clifford Chance across multiple sectors including business services, retail, technology and infrastructure, and was seconded to 3i Group plc. He also has experience founding, scaling and exiting technology start-up companies.

John McIntyre

John is responsible for sourcing, investment strategy and transaction execution.

John previously led the financial advisory businesses at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell (Head of Corporate Finance), Lehman Brothers (Head of UK M&A), Dresdner Kleinwort Benson (Global head of M&A) & Royal Bank of Scotland (Head of M&A EMEA) and has completed many landmark transactions.

Greg Garland

Greg is responsible for sourcing, investment analysis and strategy on all investment-related activities.

Greg was previously a managing director at a corporate finance boutique specialising in UK and European SME company sales and prior to that at Royal Bank of Scotland and Rothschild. Greg has experience executing M&A, both buy-side and sell-side, and capital raise mandates across multiple sectors including business services, leisure, engineering and property.

Wallace Lo

Wallace heads up the Operations function.

He has worked for Octopus Investments, Sanditon Asset Management and has over 23 years experience in asset management operations, project delivery and change management.

Sanjay Patel

Sanjay is responsible for all compliance and risk functions as the firm’s MLRO.

He has 25+ years experience within the financial industry ranging from hedge funds, banking, brokerage and investment management. He begun his career as an accountant and transitioned to regulations, risk and compliance where he has built and lead regulatory teams.

Evis Gjylameti

Evis is our office manager and has previously worked for Estee Lauder Co as a business manager and was Commercial Director for Friulprint SRL.
